The Ministry of Labour and Employment provides financial assistance for education to the children through the pre-matric scholarship scheme.

Eligibility:

  • The total family income should not exceed ₹10,000 per month for Beedi and Mineworkers and ₹8,000 or ₹1,00,000 for Cine workers.
  • One of the student’s parents must be employed in Beedi, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Iron Ore, Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, or be a Cine worker with at least six months of service.
  • Students must have passed the previous examination in the first attempt.
  • Students pursuing correspondence courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • The educational institution where the student is studying must be government-recognized or a government institution.
  • Students already receiving any other scholarship from any source are not eligible for this scheme.

The process of applying on the NSP portal is very easy and can be completed in a few steps:

  1. Registration: First, visit the official NSP website (scholarships.gov.in) and click on ‘New Registration’.
  2. Information Submission: Provide the required personal and educational details to complete the registration process.
  3. Filling the Application Form: After registration, log in using the received Application ID and Password, and then fill in the application form completely.
  4. Document Upload: Upload the necessary documents such as Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Income Certificate, and other required papers.
